This week, a double bill in the A-V Room: Ren with Walter Murch at the Hammer, and with Tristan Duke at Site Santa Fe.

Over the past several issues two of my favorite maguses, the octogenarian film and sound editor supreme Walter Murch (most recently in issues 93, 95 and 95A) and then a no-less-mind-blowing maestro roughly half his age, Tristan Duke, master among other things of that camera that takes a thousand frames per second (featured in last week’s issue 96A). As it happens the two have also been among my favorite interlocutors in events over the past year, Walter at the Hammer in LA only a few weeks back, and Tristan at Site Santa Fe, almost a full year ago. As a Labor Day treat, here follow both conversations for your lollygagging pleasure. Gawp away!
